Cook the best farro every time on the stove with minimal effort. Serve this healthy grain as a side dish, in salads, or in soups.
Get a small or medium-sized pot, depending on how much farro you’re cooking. Pour in farro and cold water using 2:1 water to farro ratio.
Bring water to a boil on medium-high heat.
Cover with a lid, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 40 minutes, until farro is cooked all the way through.
Note: Not all water has to be absorbed by farro for it to be fully cooked. After 40 minutes, you may notice that there’s still water in the pot. Simply, drain the remaining water and transfer farro back into the pot or a serving dish. This is the main difference between cooking farro and other grains like brown rice where all water has to be absorbed for it to cook through.
