This healthy, berry smoothie is extra-creamy and made without any bananas. Make it for breakfast or a snack this week!
If you don’t want to use bananas in your smoothie recipe, don’t worry! There’s a way to make an ultra-creamy, delicious, flavorful smoothie without using banana as a base.
We will be using non-dairy, unflavored yogurt as a base (I used Forager’s cashew yogurt). This is a key ingredient to make our smoothie creamy.
This smoothie is for you if you:
- Hate bananas
- Don’t have bananas on hand
- Tired of using bananas in your smoothies
Since we’re in the summer season, there’s an abundance of berries everywhere. I used a mixture of blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
Tip: if you’re using fresh berries, make sure to add some ice so that your smoothie is nice and cold.
You can use any berries you have on hand and the smoothie will come out just as delicious. I had previously made a No-Banana Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie which is still one of my favorite things to have for breakfast.

- 1 cup frozen berries (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries)
- 1 cup dairy-free unflavored yogurt
- 1 scoop protein powder unflavored or vanilla
- Optional: ice if using fresh berries
- Optional: 1/4 cup nut milk
- Optional toppings: more berries and hemp seeds

Blend everything in a high-speed blender. If your mixture is too dry and is not blending very well, add 1/4 cup of nut/non-dairy milk to help blend.

Optional: top your smoothie with more berries and hemp seeds.
