This 2-ingredient ginger shot recipe will benefit your immune system, help fight the cold, and boost your metabolism.
Have you every had a ginger shot?
In the last couple of years, the little glass bottles with bright yellow potion seem to be everywhere from the cashier’s register to yoga studios.
When I first started seeing them, it thought it was yet another overpriced health trend. No thanks, next.
Then one day at the office I started to feel sick. The early cold symptoms started to emerge – the scratchy throat…the stuffy nose.
On my way to the subway station after work, I decided to stop by the juice store. I finally decided to give the ginger shot a shot.
The $4.99 bottle was now in my hand and I decided to be brave and drink that thing right on the spot.
Because why not? I don’t have any time to waste – gotta fight that cold!
Well…taking that shot almost tasted like taking a shot of wasabi. Maybe not quite as intense but it was surely intense enough.
Ginger is spicy. It’s pleasant and unpleasant at the same time.
After taking a ginger shot 1x a day for 3 days…my cold symptoms went away!
Now, I’m not saying it’s the ultimate cold medicine. I’m not sure if my cold went away solely because of the ginger shot.
However, you can’t deny the benefits of the ginger shot!
What are the benefits of the ginger shot?
- Helps boost the immune system.
- Speeds up metabolism which can help you lose weight.
- Decreases inflammation in your body.
- Helps relieve muscle pain.
How do you drink the ginger shot?
It’s best to take it as a shot vs. sipping it slowly. It’s more of concentrate so it’s pretty strong on ginger flavor. That’s why taking a shot is simply better.
Ready to make it? You will need a juicer for this recipe and two ingredients.
